Hmmmm.
But shouldn’t releasing prisoners improve one’s reputation at least? There are several missions about freeing NPCs from slavery in the game. Maybe you could make it so that the self-dialog option gives a slight reputation boost?

At the moment, all I can see is either make them part of your crew, throw them
