PO:TEHO by Blackmark Studios; Since most of the content on the PA! thread for this great game was written and posted by myself, you can find much of that same discussion here as well. Also you will be able to find links to the Russian forums and screenshots here, as well as the latest information about the long awaited English translation.

Thank you very much Joruba. I know not a lot of people are not yet participating in the discussions here much, but I can assure you that a lot of people are reading and watching.
We are getting about 200 visits a day and over a third are consistently looking at the forum topics here.
I for one can’t wait for the release and am very much looking forward to testing it. As I said on the other Caleuche topic, I want to play through the entire game and spend a few months with it before I even think about modding it.
So just a couple of questions for you Joruba,
1. Will the English version be released on STEAM just as the Russian version was?
2. Will there ever be a hard copy of the English version of the game on CD released for sale in Western Europe, UK and the US?
Thanks!

The game is huge, a single 100% walkthrough might take around 150 hours (10-15 ingame years) on Normal difficulty.
1. It will.
2. It’s possible, can’t say much, NDA.- This reply was modified 9 years, 9 months ago by Joruba.

Thanks Joruba,
I understand on the NDA. Been there.
WOW! 150 hours! That sounds like my kind of game. I have still never completed the Austin Quest in COAS. SO I have that to look forward also.
I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One more question. I heard there was something like an ironman or hardcore mode in one of the Russian forums that causes you to literally direct sail for hours in real time to get somewhere to look for some kind of quest item. Is that true?

Not quite so. There is a hardcore mode (saving only in churches/sacred grounds) which heavily affect some quests. For example, a Regatta quest. Or situations like “take cover behind an enemy fast enough so his seven musketeer-pals will shoot him instead of you”
If you beat POTEHO on VH with Hardcore mode on, I will bow to you and call you a master.

OK thanks for the clarification Joruba.
I don’t believe you will ever be calling me Master then. I will probably try the Hardcore setting at least once however – and I do plan to play the game completely through.
NEXT QUESTION: We came up with a walkthrough guide for COAS which I am modifying as one of my projects and expanding. COAS players also often turn to Skodaraps COAS site for guidance on quests which I plan to include in the new comprehensive manual for ERAS.
PA! has a wiki for their NH mod.
Do you or Blackmark Studios plan to release a similar type of “walk-through” or mission guide for PO:TEHO written in English?

I have in mind starting with several FAQs and guides on steam forums and here. Eventually, those will form into complete walk-throughs. We expect players to find out all secrets and questlines themselves first, the game is all about surprises and “to each his own” stuff. No need to ruin all the fun.
By the way, there are already tons of guides and walk-throughts in russian, it took almost a year to fully explore the game.

Sounds awesome Joruba.
Perhaps a few members/players will assist with translating the current guides in Russian into English. I will certainly help. My son speaks Russian (Hraktuus). I would have to use a translation program which are often flawed. Dennis is also Russian.

Lads, I’ve got a translation question for you.
How to correctly write ship names? For example: We boarded ‘Neptune’ or we boarded Neptune. Or maybe the Neptune?
We had several translators working on the game, including myself, so there is some mess in names and/or sea terms. I am doing editing now (almost done).

Hello reefs,
Hope you are still kicking. It’s time for glorious testing of English version of POTEHO
So, a test build will be done by the end of this week. Therefore, I am starting to assemble every volunteer in my list. If someone wants to participate, please email me (joruba 92 @ mail . ru).
Goal: To test the game and, which is the most vital, it’s translation. We can spare only around a month and a half on that. We are going to release in the middle of this summer (Jesus, three years!).
Requirements:
Decent or native English
Skype account
Steam account
Solid experience in the series
Desire to make the game better and to see more games like POTEHO (and much better) in the futureRewards:
Free game if you don’t own it already
Well deserved place in the credits
Chance to play the game first (it’s fully operational, no major bugs, only a lot of translation mistakes, most of them are not critical)
We will think of more ways to show our gratitude to you, no pessos at this moment, I am sorry, maybe later, who knows? =)Feel free to write me.
