Hello All,
People have complained of the “Fish-Eye” problem for some time. I would usually give them advice to change their screen resolution. The ERAS2 mod was made to be played at 1776×1000 or 1660×900(1600×900). If you have a high res monitor and are playing with your screen resolution set around 1900×1400 etc… the game will not look right and the fish eye distortion problem will be bad. If you have your screen set high, then to optimize ERAS2 gameplay set it down to 1776×1000. You will enjoy the change VERY much.
As I’ve stated before I am working on a mod that will tweak screen optimization for multiple screen resolutions to enhance gameplay. This is low priority and will be released as part of a future patch.
Someone contacted me recently and explained that their monitor could not support 1776×1000 and that it was old.
I had never thought about older monitors before and that that is where some of the complaining might be coming from.
So here now for those that would like to set their game back to vanilla camera settings is a mod for lower resolution screens.
Instructions: Simply open your ERAS2 game folder. Open the rar file with the mod and open the mod folder.
Place the Age of Pirates 2 folder on the existing Age of Pirates 2 folder in your ERAS2 game folder. When asked if you want to merge files say yes. When asked if you want to replace the existing file with the new file, say yes. That’s all there is to it. Done.
If you’re experimenting and want to save the ERAS2 settings (in case you want to go back to them later), be certain to make a copy of your engine file and the AICameras file in Programs\SEA_AI and to put them somewhere safe so they can be put back into the game later.
