  I do have some new articles almost ready and the new patch just keeps getting bigger over time. There was just so little interest from the community that I decided not to kill myself with the site trying to bring in new content to people who could care less one way or another. People want to mod GOF 2.0 in the later era and I just need to accept that its more popular.
  
  I will probably put a new patched version of ERAs2 up in the next several months. Some more new ships, weapons, characters, items, islands, cemetaries, music, etc…
  
  If there were more interest I would do so much more, but I look at it as my own private mod now basically.
  
  The thing that confuses me is that the mod has been downloaded almost 30 thousand times now and over 1800 members joined the site. I guess they just want to watch and lurk and not participate. I need positive feedback – thats just the way I am wired.
  
  After what PA did to me I just have not had the enthusiasm I used to have with this stuff. I don’t care about sharing so much anymore. I play and improve the game for myself and that’s enough for me now. I don’t need to tell people about all the great stuff I am improving.
  
  I look at Pirates Ahoy and see the stuff Boelen says about COAS – no direct sail, no THIS and no THAT…”only POTC Build mod has that”, .and I know that its not true because it all works and IS there in GOF ERAS. It IS there in MY mod.
  
  It is what it is. If people keep watching – new stuff will eventually come out from me, HOWEVER, in long term intervals as I decide its ready. If folks actually cared about it, then I would care. That’s just the way it is. MK

  So what can we extract from this?
  
  He feels that too many people are lurking, and not actively contributing to the forums as of now.
  
  Furthermore there IS a patch coming, but when he feels like releasing it, will be up to him alone. Think of it like the new book of GRR Martin of Game of Thrones, its a masterpiece, and it takes time, but it also takes some positive feedback by the community. And sadly this has been a bit slacking.
  
  So here I am and I would welcome people in Joining discussions, creating new threads and topics and joining in full motion, so as MK1 will feel inclined to release the new big patch sooner to our community, or release it at all, as he could just keep it for himself if he deems that to few people would want to have it.

  Hmm. so apparently there is some kind of issue with mk1 and this game modding community?
  
  i never really experienced this before, but i guess mk1 has his reasons. i guess i can be considered a lurker but it was never with wrongful intentions. if.. i got the meaning of the word lurker right (not native enlish speaker so i sometimes dont get all meanings from words, im from Portugal). But i suppose if people only has interest in downloading it and not say a word about it, why should he care about sharing it with the community? i havent been playing this game for a long while now, specially due to personal issues, and mostly because recently i got AC4 black flag and oh boy.. its sucking every last bit of free time on my schedule. its a pirate lover dream come true BUT..altough im almost 100% finishing it, there is one very important bit missing from it, which is the role play aspect. which means i will go get my fix in AoP2 eventually. but coming here after some time and reading this.. well it makes me sad indeed. but i dont blame him if he decides to never release updates for his mod. i can only bame myself and all those who dont bother to say a word of feedback to him here on the forum.

They don’t want me in the greater communty, and they don’t want to participate in my community, even though they are quite willing to receive any free gifts I may throw out there…. People will really wish they had been more supportive when I start posting screenshots of the new locations and characters, but there is no way they can get them….sob sob…At that point I will set a number in my head. If I get a hundred members beg me for the new content I will make a new version available to the public. Less than that and it stays among friends only. He he he….I know that’s mean but I am just jaded now and don’t care anymore. MK
  
  Ya people should really try to be a tiny bit more active, if you want to ever have some sort of new fresh content released to the public. Just sayin 😉
