I’ve heard people say for a while now that Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships (AOP2:COAS) is a hard game to get ahold of. Well if you’re trying to go out to your local game/software retailer then I would have to agree, but lets face it most PC titles are scarce at any actual visited store these days.

AOP2:COAS is actually a fairly easy title to locate and obtain from many online sources however.
So here are a list of places you can get it:

Usually Amazon has 15 to 20 copies available at any given time with used currently going for about 8 dollars and new going for 15 bucks.

Micro Center also has many copies available. Last time I checked they were going for between 4 to 5 dollars a piece. WOW! That’s a steal for this game. If you happen to live in or around Kansas City, MO. and go to their location they have probably a hundred copies of this game just laying about the shelves. I love Micro Center….Mecca for computer geeks and they have everything. They are what Best Buy used to be years ago. Anyway try their online outlet to get the game here:

If you have problems with the post or live really out of the way and would just rather download the game, there are MANY places where it can be obtained AND many places where the no-CD crack can be obtained as well.

Word of warning here. Many of these places are not trustworthy sources or they will try to make you download something else (or their download utility which might have spyware attached). Also some of them may make you take some annoying survey or provide personal information before you can download. Steer clear of these places unless you are familiar with them or a member.

Look around the net and find a good source. Here are a couple that I’ve been told personally are decent:

Last I would comment that those sites make a disclaimer/statement, that you SHOULD own the actual DVD of the game if you’re downloading their online version of the game. The use examples: Like maybe your original disc got scratched or broken or whatever. I say pretty-much the same thing in the “read me” about the ERAs mod since you don’t actually need the base game for that download. Everything is in there. However I know that some people are really short of cash and that they might live in really out of the way places. Also this is becoming an old game and the rights have already been sold to other distributors who have lost interest in the title. The newest distributed hardcopies and downloaded versions of the game might even actually work without the disk. That’s what I’ve heard… Maybe? Perhaps? Very Likely actually…Try and see.
