First let me thank you for all the great work, I love this game and I have last played it years ago, basically I forgot it exists and thanks to you I can enjoy it again.
First thing I found is a bug with the english flag it looks like this:
I think the texture is not streched over it properly.
Can I change the sails? I think there might be that option, or was that another mod?
Quite a few characters spawn with katanas, probably because blade32 was previously the strongest medium blade, I kept the katana from the blue bird captain but changed some of the blades in the reaction_functions.c.
I downloaded Maelstrom with the itch client but downloaded and installed the game manually (eras 2 is the best / biggest mod right?) but there seem to be auto updates for the game itself, how do I activate them?
During the Peter Blood quest, the doctor failed to spawn in the tavern a few times, I had to reload that a lot. Also the doctor model does not look very pretty, it could be changed back to the old model.
The Blue Bird when it is loaded full is way too deep in the water, the waves go above the upper Deck, that looks a bit strange, I changed the refShip.SubSeaDependWeight to 0.2 to make it look a bit better.
During going through that file some of the numbers of other ships seem to be all over the place, some class 5 ships are extremely strong, some class 4 ships have extremely big holds (class 4 “Mermaid Grief” 6250, class 5 “Apostól Felipe” 5250) and some ships have exceedingly big boarding crews, class three “Dutchship” has a max crew of 600 and a boarding crew of 714. I know you can load more sailors on a ship than the maxcrew but still. Those ships are boarding nightmares since I play on admiral difficulty.Thank you for reading the wall of text 😀

Since the Edit button is not available anymore, there is even one more thing, the Blue Bird damages its own sails when firing. Since I really like this ship, please please please fix that or tell me how to fix it. This has probably something to do with the gun locators, it drives me crazy.

Someone please edit my previous post, it is the front guns of the ship, would still love to see this corrected since chasing ships is much more fun while firing the cannons.

That English sail is correct and is supposed to contain a small cross in the corner; by design and accurate.
You can change flags when you grant yourself the perk to do so. Then on the “Ships” screen, you can click a flag icon to display all available flags and choose an option.
As for the chaser guns cutting holes in the front sails, the original game always did that…I think it might be an OK idea to put a stop to that; I will discuss with MK.

That particular English Royal Navy blue squadron colors with the very small cross of Saint George canton appears in many paintings of actions between the English and Dutch in the 1660s through 70s. Here’s an example from the Battle of the Texel.
