I have not had these cuirass/weapons problems with other characters, but have not played as Nathaniel, so this might be a problem with that specific character. I will need a save file to check this out.
First, if you have boarding saves enabled, you should have a save file created when you tried to enter the fort/land troops. Do you get the same hangup/freeze if you load that save then try to ‘board’ the fort again? If you do, send me that save file.

Not sure, but I’m certain it could be done.
What upgrades were performed? I can put together a procedure to do the same upgrades you did, without cost, that you can run with F4.

I held out hope that the first option would do it, without replacing the whole ship. Too bad that didn’t work out. But, if you really want to upgrade again, but without the expense/hassle, we can probably do another console to make that happen; seems fair since you already performed the upgrades and shouldn’t have to duplicate the effort.

Probably the Mod Option for realistic spyglass. Load your game, then Esc to show menu. Select Options, the lower right of the next screen Mod Options.
At the top, is Realistic Spyglasses…make sure it is Off. Accept. Now, the best spyglasses should show the details you are looking for.

I got it figured and fixed. Let me package this up and get it out.
It required another cannon locator added to the model (one was missing). You will now end up with 2 more cannons on that ship as there are really 32 per side in the model, instead of the defined 31 in ships_init.c. You will have to get the new model, then run a console.c fix to…[Read more]

There are a few ships with this problem, but there is usually a way to work around it. You will need enough free hold space for the cannons you wish to purchase.
Buy the size you want, then in the cannon change interface screen, you need to click the row of the new size in the lower right of the screen to highlight that option, then Fix All. It…[Read more]

I remember someone posting/telling me about this bug from COAS, so it’s been around since the beginning.
I took a look and found the problem. I fixed it and will post it in my next update upload. I will notify when I do that.

OK, after some review, I suspect those of you still having the locked services after changing to #define PGG_TASK_MITIGATE 110 might be playing higher than difficulty level 1.
I found that I also use the difficulty level of the game (sorry, I forgot about that) to figure the service locks, and higher difficulty levels reduce the mitigation. So…[Read more]

If you see the ‘grow up’ dialog, that usually means you are not commanding a ship class within one of Blood’s ship. I believe he starts out with the Arabella, which is a class 3 maybe? So before talking to him, make sure you are commanding a class 4 or better.

To be fair, the always busy was a side-effect of so many NPC characters and not really an intentional add; by putting so many characters in, the original feature to lock services became much more noticeable because COAS only had a handful of characters.

Great news!
The occasional texture flickering was specific to DirectX 9 and I guess it’s a change in some default behavior that was different than DirectX 8.
