Ladies and Gentlemen,
Here is a forum specifically about our website.
I want to gain feedback from members on the sites layout, ways it could be improved, hints that might help me as I am completely new at this kind of thing.
Also I want to know about things that don’t work or work badly. So far most of that feedback has come privately from e-mail of PM.
However, I want this to be public and am not afraid of constructive criticism or help.
Up front I want to say that I am aware that some of you have had trouble getting membership. Keep trying. I have got most of this working now and will continue to improve it.
Also some of you say that you are having trouble with the link for the ERAS2 mod. If you are persistent it will work. MEGA simply requires you to install their loader which is an non-intrusive safe and very small file application. Once that is done you should be able to download. Try refreshing the page or hit the back web toggle and go forward again to it. These steps seem to work well.
I am still trying to seed a torrent for the mod. When patch 2 is ready I will build a version of the mod that can be downloaded in smaller sections and then reassembled by the user. I will also try to find other places to upload it as I know some of you can’t access MEGA from where you live. I have heard your pleas and will respond, but it will take me a month or more to get all of this done with everything I have on my plate right now.
I am also trying to get comment blocks inserted at the bottom of my pages. I don’t know why its so hard.
Talk to me!
MK

What happened with the website?
I see many 404 errors, pages that don’t exist anymore, the forums are no longer linked in the menu, the GoF ERAs2 forum in particular seems completely deleted, and some php errors here and there…
It’s been some days like this, hope this project isn’t dead.

Yes, I also noticed this days ago and sent MK a PM, but no response yet.

Strange, now the home page is back, but the rest is still “missing”…
It looks as if some plugin messed up the website, but in that case I find it strange that Modernknight didn’t notice and try to fix things up…

I’d go for a very light design. Get rid of that big menu type bar up top. Replace w/ a smaller one. Change to a clearer font type. The spacing between lines are too large. Also try to optimize your site, its pretty heavy on resources.
But I’m pretty new to this too so..Although, if you want to look for possible UI overhauls you can take tips from this site: http://themes.theultralinx.com/
The aforementioned site has a lot of different, simple UI possibilities but youd have to dig deeper to find something practical since most are, unfortunately, kinda artsy with little substance. I guess you’ll not be stylizing a lot in css though. But nonetheless theres that.
If you are looking for a change in color palate then this site helps: http://colorhunt.co/W/ all that said, I’d say it’d be best if you focused on optimizing the site’s usage of resources; use solid colors instead of a tiled background image for eg. Some words are deprecated too, like the ‘Subscribe’ at the top of this forum.
This ones pretty heavy handed for your needs, still, take hints in crumbs:) http://theultralinx.com/2015/08/69-tips-for-designing-the-perfect-website/
hope this helps, captain.

Its back up. Thanks for the input. Failed to get it rebuilt. I will probably try again sometime but am tired of it right now.
