Harbour battles! Cool!
Hats off and kudos to that man. Jeffrey are you Julian Jensen / Julian Lefay in disguise? LOL
Also noted in the vid: Still using that old animation for the “chicks”? The one with 20 wrist scratches per minute? Might have an updated file or two of the ani files for you to play with – with improved sidestep, faster running with/without weapon drawn (but not OP), etc. Gimme a couple of days and I’ll PM you them…need to go to sleep now 🙂
Harbour battles look amazing!

This look nice and add some life in our harbors … when you go out off the ship yard and saw that go directly to the tavern or redo repairs !

That would be a really amazing feature to have added! I would definitely prefer to have combat music playing during the fight, and it’d be really cool for one to start while you’re on shore so that you can watch it happen from the docks! Amazing!

Interestingly enough this project is years old. I tried to add ships in harbors that you could see sailing away while you were walking around in the colony. I also wanted small ships at the jetty right next to the docks rather than just the little jolly boat. Actually his majesty Chancellor Fuhrer Grand Mof Boelen from PA! was helping me with these projects and I had some success, but boats would spawn in the town squares and ships would sail into or through cliffs – so I shelved it because too much new locator work was required and with no visual plug in editor that allows one to edit locators to scenes on the fly with no hex editing, this kind of work takes hours of testing just to get a few locators finished. I never had the patience and one of the reasons I was hoping to work with Mett and the Quadratic team – was to exchange their visual scene editor programs for our improved 64bit DX9 version of the engine.
Anyway, Jeffrey has taken my desires for ships sailing away in harbors and expanded it into actual battles as well. So what we have been discussing is that these battles might be seen in the opening menu sequence instead of the ship just sitting there. OR whenever you enter a harbor at the same time a punitive expedition has recently set upon the same place.
This is indeed VERY cool and Jeffrey continues to constantly amaze me.

I would definitely like to see this feature make it into future versions of the game. Harbor battles are really cool!
As for what MK1 said he originally wanted for harbors in his post, I’d also like to see ships coming and going from harbors as well. I’d especially like to see small working boats moving around a harbor (and elsewhere around the islands), like fishing boats, grain transports, packet boats, passenger carriers, etc.
I’d also like harbors to have ships from neutral or allied nations sailing in and out as well, reflecting the trade that’s almost constantly going on between the various nations.

Really agree with you Vincent. This would be really more immersive background. Hopefully it seem to be the way than the mod take. historical and immersive, I really like that.

Really loving feature, of course it would be perfect if the ships you see sailing in port could be the same that you see when in town.
