the issue of hostiles seeking assistance/relaxing in enemy taverns. I suggested this before and Mr. Jeffrey said IIRC it was a fairly simple coding.

Not sure if I’d call it a bug…just depends on your perspective of things.
If you are inside the tavern of say, Tortuga, and look out the window, you can see where there “should” be an ocean view, but it was just a black void where the water should be. It’s small, and most people probably don’t notice.

LOL, should have kept quiet about it. Live it up now, but since I know about this exploit, it’s going on my “list.”
I thought there were already mechanics in the game to prevent that when we expanded the shipyard capability to 3 locations. But I see now that is only “after” the upgrade is complete; it obviously does not prevent starting them…[Read more]

The musketeer problem is something that has been a common problem when the character is granted a different weapon and that specific character’s animation does not cater to anything other than the musket, so it can’t load with a different weapon. Question 1: The flicker is not just you. I’ve noticed it and so has MK. I’ve looked into it various times before, but never narrowed it down. Using file explorer, navigate to RESOURCESoundsMUSIC
Create a folder and call it SMPirates. Put all your converted music files inside the folder.

OK, turns out I was wrong about the fort damage problem. Someone else tried Belize fort and it turns out you can’t do any damage to that fort at all; I tried in my own game and the claim was correct. I suspect that the problem you had with Martinique, though only “partial” is similar.

Then, in the dialog.h file, change the top to add how many extra dialog lines

Sorry I somehow missed this…but Marty just supplied me save with similar problem and I was able to fix this. If you still have this game going (but probably had to abandon due to the relation problems), try the update.

I got your email and using your save, I traveled to Bermudes and they immediately started a fight upon landing. So, with this save, I was able to troubleshoot the problem and find a solution. I just updated Itch with a fix and now, when I land in Bermudes, no more immediate fight.

Hmmm, I also see that I somehow missed Filipe’s post.
It seems like there is somehow an AI group that you probably can’t even see in the scene that is still remembered by the game engine and somehow you triggered an alarm against them, somewhere in the game script code. If you are looking for a global replace type feature, that would require some work.
Right now, the method they set up was to use a function GetAddress_FormToNPC that uses the character attribute .sex to look up in the globals.txt gender and nation:
