Rats don’t eat gunpowder. We fixed that ages ago. They only eat perishable goods. Also if you find a cat your rat issues are over. So there is more than one way to prevent rats now. I don’t see how this would ever ruin any questlines. The merchant dialogue is different for receiving cargo so he will always accept your cargo. If you are short because of rats that’s part of the challenge – I try to buy extra when I can if its perishable goods. Well skin number 1 for the last ship in the update is finished. The others will be done tonight or tomorrow.

Not every mast in the game has flag locators. So some ships will not have a flag or pennant on every mast. Surrender in the game is represented by NO FLAG.
